BAGHDAD
Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant militants have reportedly beseiged the city of Amiriyah, south of Fallujah.
Al-Amiriyah City Council President Shaqir Mahmoud al-Isava called on the government in Baghdad to send ground forces and air support.
“The militants have brought in heavy weapons, suicide bombers and bomb-laden vehicles into the region,” said Isava, “We are very concerned and are expecting support from Baghdad.”

At least 38 ISIL militants were killed in attacks by the Iraqi army and the U.S.-led coalition forces.
Air force raids killed 28 militants and destroyed six vehicles belonging to the group in the western Iraqi province of Anbar, commander of Tigris Operations, Lt. Gen. Abdul-Amir al-Zaidi told Anadolu Agency.
Another 10 ISIL militants were killed in bombings in Fallujah in the western Iraqi province of Al Anbar.

At least 15 people were killed and another 46 were injured in separate attacks on Thursday in Iraq’s capital Baghdad, according to police sources.
At least six people were killed and 21 were injured after a vehicle loaded with bombs exploded in al-Talibiya region east of Baghdad, according to information received from local police sources by Anadolu Agency.
Another eight people were killed and 23 were wounded after three car bombs exploded in the capital’s northern region of Dolai.
An attack was also made on security forces in the town of Madain, located in south of Baghdad, where one soldier was killed and three people were injured
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
