Turkey’s consumer confidence index rose 0.5 percent in March, the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK) reported on Monday.
The index rose to 67 points in March from 66.64 points in February, or 0.5 percent.
Official data showed that the downward trend in consumer confidence that started in December halted in March.
The largest improvement among sub-indices was in the number of people unemployed expectation index, which is a gauge of the health of labor market. The index saw a 2.5 percent or 1.6 points advance compared to the previous month.
The financial situation expectation of household reading also saw a rise of 0.5 points or 0.5 percent from the previous month to reach 89.77 in March.
However sentiment on the economic situation slipped in March by 0.7 percent, as it fell from 90.03 points to 89.41 points in the month.
In line with the deterioration in sentiment on the economic situation, the probability of saving index also fell 0.2 percent to 21.01 points.
