European football's governing body on Friday announced it was launching disciplinary proceedings linked to the UEFA Europa League final between Sevilla and Roma at Puskas Arena earlier this week.

The proceedings will be related to several offenses by both sides including the throwing of objects, lighting of fireworks, and improper conduct on the part of the teams during the match on Wednesday, UEFA said on its website.

The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) will decide on the matter in due course, it added.

After losing the final 4-1 in the penalties, Roma's Portuguese head coach Jose Mourinho had a verbal outburst against referee Anthony Taylor in the aftermath of the game.

Mourinho even confronted Taylor and his staff in the parking lot of Puskas Arena.

The English referee was later targeted by several Roma supporters at Budapest Airport.
