An explosion shook a pier crowded with foreign tourists in central Bangkok on Tuesday, the day after a bomb killed 20 people and injured more than 120 at a Hindu shrine.
Thai daily Khao Sod reported that no one was injured in the blast that occurred at 12:59 p.m. (0559GMT).
Police are reported to have immediately secured the area.
Video shows a device landing in the river near the pier, sending water shooting into the air as tourists scramble to get out of the way.
The device is believed to have been thrown from the bridge above,
The pier - on Bangkok's Chao Phraya River - serves the nearby popular Khao San backpacker area favoured by budget tourists.
