Taliban attack kills 6 in northern Afghanistan

MAZAR-I SHARIF, Afghanistan

At least six people, including the district head of the Afghan intelligence service, were killed in an attack by the Taliban in the country's northern Sar-e Pol province on Tuesday.

Provincial governor spokesman Zabiullah Amani told Anadolu Agency that the militants targeted the vehicle of Sancharak district's head of intelligence, Syed Sharafuddin, in the Langar area.

Amani said three security personnel, a deputy head of intelligence and a teacher were also killed in the attack.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility.
