Anadolu Agency publishes 2014's best photos

ANKARA

The Anadolu Agency (AA) has published a selection of some of its best photos summarizing 2014's most significant events.

The photo series, which was selected by AA editors, includes 200 images that depict a number of momentous developments from Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Gaza, Hong Kong, the USA, Spain, Italy, Ukraine and many other countries.

Photos were published on AA’s News Transmission System (HAS) both in Turkish and English.

AA’s influence has been booming in the international arena thanks to news crews that are on the scene wherever news breaks. 

AA’s photographers are stationed in the USA, Egypt, Russia, Spain, the UK, Belgium, Greece, Italy, Germany, Palestine, South Africa, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Pakistan. AA also works with freelance photographers from other countries whenever something newsworthy happens. 

 AA’s success has been followed by both foreign and domestic media and the company has signed cooperation agreements with renowned media outlets like AFP Image Forum and Getty Images.

AA photos have been featured in acclaimed media outlets like TIME, Guardian, New York Times, Washington Post, Telegraph, Paris Match and Newsweek in 2014. In addition, AA photographers won a number of international photo prizes.

AA participated in one of the world's biggest international news photography festivals, Visa Pour L’Image, in France in 2014 and the company will host the first Istanbul Photo Awards in 2015. 

The event is expected to be one of the most important news photography contests in the world. More than 60 countries have applied for the event.

AA has also launched anadoluimages.com to share its visual and multimedia content on a single platform.
