Anadolu Agency News Academy has signed a cooperation agreement with Qatar-based Al Jazeera network’s Media Training and Development Centre.

AA News Academy Coordinator Umit Sonmez and Al Jazeera Strategy and Development Manager Yasi Bisr signed the agreement Wednesday during a ceremony at Al Jazeera headquarters in the Qatari capital Doha.

The agreement allows both institutions to share their experiences and hold joint training programs.

Sonmez said the AA News Academy and the Al Jazeera Media Training and Development Centre signed the cooperation agreement to “share experiences” and “carry out joint activities and training programs” in the future.

He said the valuable experience of Al Jazeera Media Training and Development Centre in the Gulf and the Middle East along with the experience of AA News Academy in Turkey, North Africa and Middle East will create new opportunities on both sides.

In a twitter post, Sonmez wished the cooperation between Anadolu Agency and Al Jazeera would “create new opportunities for young journalist candidates.”
