Turkey offers virtual tour of 'biggest mosaic museum'

GAZIANTEP, Turkey

The world's biggest mosaic museum, Zeugma Mosiac Museum, in Turkey's southeastern Gaziantep province, is now available for virtual tours, it was announced Sunday.

Launched by the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry, the website "www.zeugma.com.tr" offers virtual tours of the museum in eight languages and that too in 360 degree views.

According to the statement from the chamber, the website was made to "promote the historical and cultural heritage of their city.

“The website has been created for the Zeugma Antique City, its mosaics, the Archeology Museum and the Zeugma Mosaic Museum."

The website contains all information on the Zeugma Antique City, its history and civilization, its mosaics and artworks as well as providing latest information on ongoing excavations.

The platform, containing scientific reviews and publications, also offers the floor plan and the promotion leaflet of the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, enabling visitors to tour the Zeugma Antique City and the Gaziantep Archeology Museum in a 360 degree circle environment.

The website is available in Turkish, English, German, Arabic, French, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese Mandarin languages.

Adil Sani Konukoglu, head of the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry, said in a statement the project aims to protect and promote the cultural heritage of Gaziantep, and advertise it to the world.
