ANKARA
The Turkish gendarmerie band celebrated the new season of popular television series Game of Thrones by playing its theme song.
The video posted on the gendarmerie's official Twitter account shows smartly dressed men in red uniforms play music.
"Winter is here. Let it be, as long as there is gendarmerie, everyone is safe!” the post said.
Within three hours of being shared, the post garnered more than 2,000 retweets and received 3,000 likes.
Game of Thrones, first aired in 2011, tells the story of nine noble families trying to take control of the mythical land of Westeros.
Last year, it became the most awarded television series with 38 Emmy wins.
The show's first episode of its seventh season was aired Sunday evening.
