Iraqi Vice-President Tareq al-Hashemi attended on Sunday a congress meeting of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party in Ankara

Speaking at the congress, Al-Hashemi stated that he was pleased to participate in the congress.Describing AK Party as "unique," Al-Hashemi expressed that Turkey has been performing very well for the last 10 years after AK Party started ruling the country.Al-Hashemi said that Turkey's exports were 36 billion USD in 2002, but following a right policy the country's exports reached 114 billion USD in 2010."I have a belief that Turkey will carry on its accomplishments and head to much bigger targets," said Al-Hashemi.Al-Hashemi also praised Recep Tayyip Erdogan's upright stance in the Islamic world."Erdogan, the Islamic world will not forget your stance in Davos. They will not forget your support not only in terms of Gaza but also your support to Arab nations who try to get rid of dictators," said Al-Hashemi.Al-Hashemi also praised Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu's efforts in Turkey's foreign policy.
