IAEA adopts "Nuclear-Free Middle East" resolution

VIENNA (AA) - International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Friday adopted the draft resolution of "Nuclear-Free Middle East" and rejected the draft resolution of "Nuclear abilities of Israel".

IAEA General Assembly held in Vienna ended with the voting on "Nuclear-Free Middle East" and "Nuclear abilities of Israel" on Friday with the participation of 159 countries.

51 countries voted against the ‘Nuclear abilities of Israel’ measure and 43 states, including Turkey voted for it, while 32 others abstained from voting. Therefore, the draft resolution of "Nuclear abilities of Israel’ was rejected.

On the other hand, the draft resolution on "Nuclear-Free Middle East" was adopted.
