Turkish Airlines has launched a social media competition for sports fans giving lucky winners the opportunity to attend a series of spring sports events in seven countries.
Turkey's national flag-carrier said on Monday it is looking for the most passionate sports fan to travel around the world from March 28 to April 20 to seven different countries for 10 sports events and meet football stars Lionel Messi and Didier Drogba in person.
Ivory Coast striker Drogba who plays for Chelsea in the English Premier League is the newest “brand ambassador” for Turkish Airlines. Barcelona's Argentine star Lionel Messi has already been a global brand ambassador for three years.
The campaign challenges sports fans to upload creative videos or photos either by Vine or Instagram, or tweet the best sentence to Twitter using the #EpicFan hashtag, explaining the reason why Turkish Airlines should choose them.
The participants must first fill in the form on "www.epicsportsfan.com" website to apply.
The required qualities to be the biggest sports fan are creativity, experience in watching sports, high-level communication skills, good knowledge in using social media, having a sense of responsibility, to be fast paced and solution oriented, good at teamwork, preferably English speaking and with no restrictions on travelling on the given dates.
A jury will choose one fan among participants worldwide to attend basketball, football, tennis and golf games in Japan, he Netherlands, Germany, Spain, France, Britain and the United Arab Emirates within 24 days, and will meet Messi and Drogba.
