Free Syrian Army (FSA) on Thursday discovered a new base of YPG/PKK terrorist organization during a security sweep in Syria’s northwestern Afrin region, recently liberated by Turkish military-led operation.

During the search, the FSA members discovered the base used by the YPG/PKK's so-called "special forces" as a gathering point, accommodation and training center at the southern exit of the city of Afrin.

"The base consisted of training area, wards, separate training camp for women and command center," Ismail Hac Suleyman, one of the commanders of FSA, told Anadolu Agency.

"Terrorists have prepared hand-made explosives and loaded vehicles with bombs in the base," he added.

The large area for training purposes, tunnels and reinforced concrete fortifications were also found in the base.

Ammunition depots, electronic devices, radio communication devices and laptop computers used in the underground rooms were also discovered in the area.
