Jordanian Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki arrived in Baghdad on Monday for talks with Iraqi officials, according to an Iraqi cabinet source.
"The Jordanian prime minister has come to discuss common economic and security issues and the ongoing war against the Daesh terrorist group," the source said, speaking anonymously due to restrictions on talking to media.
While in Iraq, al-Mulki is slated to meet Iraqi counterpart Haidar al-Abadi, Iraqi President Fuad Masum and Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri, the same source said.
According to an Iraqi Foreign Ministry source, meetings will likely tackle Iraq-Jordan economic relations, the reopening of the Trebil border terminal, Jordanian investment in Iraq, the fight against terrorism, and bilateral security coordination.
