Israeli forces detain Palestinian after allegedly trying to stab soldier with screwdriver

JERUSALEM
Israeli forces shot and detained a Palestinian after an alleged stabbing attempt in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday.
The Israeli military said in a statement the suspect was injured after allegedly using a screwdriver to attack a soldier at a checkpoint south of Nablus.
The soldier was not injured, according to the statement.
More than 230 Palestinians have been shot dead by Israeli forces after alleged knife attacks since October, according to Palestinian Health Ministry.
Israeli authorities, meanwhile, say around 40 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks in the same period.
