Three Iraqi policemen were killed in a suicide bombing in the Old City of Mosul on Wednesday, according to a federal police officer.
A bomber detonated his explosive vest as Rapid Response forces were clearing al-Qulayat district in western Mosul, lieutenant Khamis al-Jabbouri told Anadolu Agency.
Two other police personnel were injured in the attack.
Once Iraq's second largest city, Mosul was captured by Daesh along vast swathes of territory in northern and western Iraq in 2014.
Last week, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi formally declared victory over Daesh in Mosul, the terrorist group's last stronghold in northern Iraq.
