TEHRAN

There was no winner from the incumbent president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad-backed "Viva Spring" list on last Friday's presidential elections.

Conservatives were highly frustrated by reformists' candidate Hassan Rowhani's landslide victory.

The reformist list also outscored the conservatives in the simultaneous local elections.

While the reformists have already announced their preference to see Mohsen Hashemi, son of Hashemi Rafsanjani, to be Tehran mayor, no candidate from the "Viva Spring" list supporting the mayorship of Ahmadinejad's Minister of Transportation and Housing Ali Nikzad could be elected.

In Iran, local and presidential elections were held at the same time.

Reformist-backed Hassan Rowhani won the presidency in the first round by getting 51 percent of the votes.
