
ERZURUM (AA) - September 19, 2012 - A Turkish soldier died of wounds he sustained in a terrorist attack on Tuesday in eastern Turkey, bringing up the troop death toll from the ambush on a military convoy to ten.
The soldier died at a university hospital in the eastern province of Erzurum, said the governor's office, adding that two other wounded soldiers were still in intensive care with their condition improving.
PKK terrorists targeted a military convoy on an inter-city route in eastern Turkey, hitting a bus carrying unarmed soldiers with rocket propelled grenades and automatic rifles. Seventy soldiers were wounded.
The terrorist organization has recently stepped up its attacks on military targets.
Turkish officials have said around 500 PKK terrorists were killed in military operations within the past month.
