BAGHDAD
A series of bomb explosions in Baghdad has killed at least 28 people and wounded 66 others, security officials said.
The bloodiest of Monday's attacks occurred in the Abu Dsheer district in the south of the capital, where a car bomb went off near a crowded bazaar killing seven people and injuring 18.
Other explosions were reported in the western part of the city, at a district bazaar in al-Rashidiya in northern Baghdad, and in the New Baghdad district of the city. Lethal blasts were also reported in the al-Bayya district, and at a parking garage as well as a shop in the al-Hurriya district.
One bomb targeted one of the former commanders of the "Sahwa forces," killing the commander and 4 others in Daura.
