Afghan forces kill 32 Taliban, claims government
Nationwide raids kill 32, capture 11 militants, Afghan interior ministry reports; Taliban rejects claims.
KABUL, Afghanistan
Afghan officials claimed that 32 Taliban fighters were killed with eight others wounded in nationwide raids by the country's security forces.
Eleven militants were also captured during the 24-hour operation, the Afghan interior ministry claimed in a statement on Tuesday.
The raids were carried out in Kabul, Wardak, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Kapisa, Kunar, Nuristan and Helmand provinces.
Guns and explosives were seized, the ministry added.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid denied the government claims, saying that many Afghan and foreign soldiers were killed in Taliban attacks.
