Afghan security forces killed at least 35 Taliban members and wounded six others in nationwide military operations, said the country's interior ministry on Monday.
According to a written statement issued by the ministry, the Afghan army launched operations in Kunar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Kandahar, Wardak, Ghazni, Khost, Helmand and Nimroz provinces.
Six Taliban members were also detained and a large amount of weapons and ammunition were seized by the national forces.
Afghanistan's Defense Ministry Spokesman, General Zahir Azimi, in addition said six Afghan soldiers were killed in the attacks with the Taliban in various locations of the country.
Furthermore, the Taliban held a suicide attack in Kandahar late on Sunday, killing three police officers, according to Afghan forces. The Taliban disputed this figure and claim 10 police were killed and eight others were injured.
