Local Coordination Committees (LCC) in Syria reported that a regime helicopter carried out an air strike on the opposition-controlled Mesekin Hananu district of Aleppo.
The wave of barrel bombs left 23 people dead and dozens more injured, according to LCC.
Another activist group, Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC), reported that there were further casualties in the Deraya district of Damascus after barrel bomb attacks by regime war planes.
Meanwhile, Syrians fleeing the attacks by the Assad regime are reported to be seeking shelter in safety havens near the Turkish border.
According to the Istanbul-based IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, more than 10,000 people have taken shelter in the camp founded near the Es Selame border crossing, in the last few days.
More than 100,000 people have been killed in the three year conflict, while 6.5 million people have been internally displaced. Over two million are now registered as refugees in the neighboring countries of Turkey, Lebanon and Iraq.
