Iraq's Vice President Tariq Al-Hashimi has said that the Syrian people were grateful to Turkey and were determining their position in accordance with Turkey.

I believe that bringing down a Turkish military plane in the international waters was not a right act for Syria, Al-Hashimi told AA correspondent on Friday in an exclusive interview in Istanbul.
"It can be frankly seen that Turkish plane was not there to attack. I have no clue about why this action was taken against the Turkish government. I feel deep sadness for the pilots and their families," said Al-Hashimi.
Following the strike in the eastern Mediterranean sea by Syria, Al-Hashimi said Turkey should have to protect their national security.
Stating that Syrians frankly welcomed Turkey's support, Al-Hashimi said Syrians were very grateful to Turkey and now they are getting their positions according to the Turkish government.
Turkey's priority should be expressed in the international arena so that what is happening to innocent people in Syria gets heard, stated Al-Hashimi.
Al-Hashimi said that a legal system should be erected urgently to make Syrians' life better.
