PKK terrorists open fire on gendarmerie station in eastern Tunceli province

A civilian died and two soldiers were wounded in an attack carried out by the PKK terrorists in Turkey's eastern Tunceli province Monday, according to regional governor’s office.
Tunceli Governor’s Office said in a statement a civilian who got wounded in the attack later succumbed to his wounds.
PKK terrorists had opened fire with long-barreled weapons on the Daloren gendarmerie station in the province’s Hozat district early Monday. Security forces then responded to the attack, according to a military source, who spoke on condition of confidentiality due to restrictions on talking to the media.
The injured soldiers were taken to Elazig Firat University Hospital.
An operation was also launched in the area to nab the attackers.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, over 600 security personnel, including troops, police officers and village guards have been martyred and more than 7,000 PKK terrorists killed or neutralized in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
