Three PKK terrorists were “neutralized” in an operation in southeastern Hakkari province's Cukurca district on Friday, according to the army.

The Turkish General Staff said in a statement on Saturday the terrorists were preparing an attack.

In addition, three terrorists were killed by a drone strike in the Izbe mountain region, located between the Yuksekova and Daglica districts of Hakkari. To date, 334 terrorists had been "neutralized" in the province, said the army.

Elsewhere, shelters and gun emplacements belonging to the PKK were destroyed during an air operation in the southeastern province of Siirt's Eruh district.

During this air operation, three terrorists were neutralized and many others injured, according to the security sources who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restriction on talking to media.

A flamethrower, improvised explosives materials and medical supplies were also seized in two shelters in the Beytussebap district of the southeastern Sirnak province.

Also, an improvised explosive device, which was found by security forces in the Karacakoy district of Diyarbakir province, was destroyed.

Moreover, a PKK terrorist surrendered to security forces in the Semdinli district of Hakkari province.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU and resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, PKK terrorist attacks have martyred more than 600 security personnel and also claimed the lives of numerous civilians, including women and children, while more than 7,000 PKK terrorists have been killed in army operations.
