Turkey's Defense Ministry has launched an investigation against all military judges on Wednesday.

The ministry said that a total of 262 military judges and prosecutors were suspended after the Friday's military coup attempt.

The ministry did not state exactly how many prosecutors were suspended.

The failed putsch resulted in the deaths of at least 240 people.

U.S.-based cleric Fetullah Gulen has been accused of running a long-standing campaign to overthrow the Turkish government through supporters within state institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary.
