Turkey's Marmara University in Istanbul decorated Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan with an honorary doctorate degree on Saturday.
Erdogan was presented with the honorary doctorate degree in a ceremony held at the Haydarpasa Campus of the Marmara University.
Marmara University is celebrating the 130th anniversary of its foundation in 2013.
Foreign powers present in Mali due to presence of rich gold reserves
Erdogan said that foreign powers were present in Mali due to the presence of rich gold reserves.
Speaking in Istanbul and in which he was presented with an honorary doctorate degree, Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the residents of Mali did not know how to extract or process gold.
"We are in a position to extend an helping hand to those undeveloped countries. As we extend an helping hand, their territories would get fertile," Erdogan also said.
