A total of 45 Daesh terrorists were killed in Syria's Aleppo province during an operation carried out by Turkish Armed Forces and the U.S.-led coalition, according to military sources.
Speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak with the media, Turkish military sources said Saturday that the Turkish Armed Forces' artillery and the coalition's air operation on Daesh targets in northern Aleppo killed 45 Daesh terrorists.
During the operations, five defensive positions and a mortar belonging to Daesh were destroyed.
In addition, Turkey carried out airstrikes on PKK terrorist bases in Turkey and northern Iraq on Friday.
In a statement Saturday, the Turkish General Staff said that F-16 and F-4 2020 jets bombed and destroyed 98 PKK positions in nine air operations.
The PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against Turkey in July.
Since then, more than 440 members of the security forces, including troops, police officers, and village guards, have been martyred, and over 4,500 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
