KIRKLARELI, Turkey
At least 41 undocumented migrants were held on Saturday in Turkey's northwestern province of Kirklareli, according to security sources.
Migrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq were arrested as they attempted to leave Turkey to reach Europe using illegal routes, said the sources who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restriction on speaking to the media.
They were sent to the provincial migration department.
Turkey has been a main route for refugees trying to cross into Europe, since especially the beginning of the civil war in Syria.
