Eight PKK terrorists were killed in counter-terrorism operations in Turkey’s southeast, the military said Sunday.
Reporting incidents from the previous day, the Turkish General Staff said four terrorists were killed in Nusaybin, Mardin province, and four across neighboring Sirnak province.
Two terrorists surrendered in Sirnak and Elazig provinces, the statement added.
Assault rifles and grenades were captured during the operations.
The PKK is listed as terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU. Security forces have been conducting anti-terror operations since late 2015 in an effort to clear PKK terrorists from urban areas in the country's southeast.
More than 400 security personnel have been martyred since the PKK renewed its armed campaign in July. Around 3,700 terrorist have been killed in the same period.
