THE HAGUE
The project on opening of imam-hatip schools, which was initiated by the Netherlands Religious Affairs Foundation and supported by several Turkish nongovernmental organizations, aims to train imams who will serve in mosques in the Netherlands.
Two imam hatip schools will be opened in the country at the first phase under the project.
Prof. Mustafa Unver, head of the Netherlands Religious Affairs Foundation, told AA correspondent that they held talks with several Turkish NGOs and received their support on the matter.
Unver said that they planned to open schools within one year.
