Turkish security sources on Tuesday denied claims that Turkish troops had entered Syria near Jarabulus.
Soldiers crossed a rail line near the border to clear land mines but did not cross the frontier, the sources said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Earlier Tuesday, Russian media claimed Turkish troops had taken up positions near the border to launch an operation against Daesh.
