Turkey: 144 PKK terrorists killed in one SE district
Counter-terrorism operations in Mardin province's Nusaybin district have also left 22 Turkish security personnel martyred since March 14

A total of 144 PKK terrorists have been killed and 22 Turkish security personnel martyred as of Thursday in Nusaybin district of Turkey’s southeastern Mardin province since an ongoing military operation began on March 14, the provincial governor’s office announced.
According to a statement posted at Mardin Governorate’s official website, 101 barricades were also removed, 11 ditches filled up and 272 improvised explosives destroyed.
Three PKK suspects were also captured.
The statement also said 616 people had been evacuated and relocated to safer zones.
A total of 22 security forces, "who fought heroically" were also martyred, it added.
The PKK – also seen as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.
Since then, over 350 members of the security forces have been martyred and thousands of PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
