Ankara
SIRNAK, Turkey
Turkish police have said two civilians were killed Tuesday when a makeshift bomb planted in a car by the terrorist PKK organization went off in the southeastern province of Sirnak.
The attack in Uludere town also left one other passenger heavily wounded, local police said, adding that an investigation had been launched into the incident.
Meanwhile, a soldier has died of injuries sustained in a Feb. 1 attack by PKK terrorists in the southeastern district of Sur in Diyarbakir province, the Turkish military said Tuesday.
The soldier was being treated in a military hospital in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
The PKK -- designated a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- renewed its armed campaign against the Turkish state in late July 2015.
Since then, more than 250 members of the security forces have been martyred and thousands of PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
