One soldier was injured after three mortar shells from Syria landed in the Yayladagi district of the southern province of Hatay on Saturday, a military source said.
The shells, reportedly fired from a regime-controlled site in Syria into the village of Pulluyazi, fell near a military guard post, and a soldier on patrol was slightly wounded, said the source, who asked not be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
Turkish troop units responded to the attack by shelling the area the shells originated from, it added.
