ISTANBUL
Two Daesh suspects were arrested at Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport on Sunday following risk analysis and profile assessment reports.
The foreign nationals arrived from Ukraine late Sunday. One 25-year-old suspect, identified as K.V., possessed both Kyrgyz and Russian passports while the second suspect, F.M.I., 35, held a Ukrainian residence permit.
Checks also revealed they were carrying two passports and three Kyrgyzstan identity cards belonging to other people as well as military items.
Separately, Istanbul police department’s anti-terror branch conducted raids in various addresses in Istanbul, detaining two people.
On Tuesday, 45 people were killed in an attack at the airport which has been blamed on Daesh.
