Region’s one and only power plant’s electricity production came to a halt due to fuel crisis following the destruction of tunnels that connected Gaza to Egypt – the only connection to the outer world. The tunnels were destructed after the military coup that ousted President Morsi in Egypt four months ago.
A land, air and sea blockade imposed by Israel on Gaza in 2007 still continue.
