At least six suspected Taliban fighters, including an alleged commander have been killed in a U.S. drone airstrike in eastern Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, a provincial police official said Monday.
The attack took place in Bati Kot district’s Barikaab Dab village at 5.30 p.m. Sunday evening that left six militants dead, including a Pakistani militant, provincial police chief Fazel Ahmad Sherzad said.
In a statement, the provincial police department said that the killed fighters included Abdul Ahad, Khan Afzal, Hanifa and Doctor Omar, the alleged group commander.
On June 19, at least 12 Taliban militants, including four foreigners were killed in U.S. drone strikes in Nangarhar.
