Relief operations underway following heavy rains which hit Friday night
TEHRAN, Iran
Flash floods triggered by heavy rains have killed 11 people in northern and southern Iran, the country's state television channel said Saturday.
Friday night's floods killed at least six people in the capital region's southeastern Pakdasht county, four in the southern province of Hormozgan and one in the northern province of East Azerbaijan, Press TV said.
Relief and rescue operations are underway, it added.
At least 11 people were killed in flash flooding which hit Tehran and the neighboring northern province of Alborz late July.
