Pakistani scholar Ansari dies at age 84

ISLAMABAD

Pakistani scholar and president of the International Islamic University, Zafar Ishaq Ansari, has passed away at the age of 84.

The scholar died of a heart attack on Sunday. He was buried in the Pakistani capital Islamabad following the al–Asr (mid-afternoon) prayer. Hundreds of people attended his funeral.

Ansari wrote numerous books and articles on history, religion and social sciences. His father Maulana Zafar Ansari was also a well-known scholar in Pakistan.
