Russian airstrikes have claimed the lives of 1,815 civilians in Syria’s opposition-held areas since September, according to new Syrian Civil Defense Authority statistics.

Russian airstrikes started in Syria under the pretext of “fighting terrorism”, but in reality, the moderate Syrian opposition has been targeted by Russia more than Daesh.

Russian airstrikes have intensified on the cities of Idlib, Aleppo, Hama and Homs, in addition to rural areas in Latakia, Daraa and southern Damascus.

The indiscriminate airstrikes have leveled mosques, hospitals, bakeries and schools.

According to a December report by the Syrian Network for Human Rights, more than 570 civilians were killed since Sept. 30, when Russia began airstrikes to prop up the Assad regime.
